Dishwasher safe, though hand washing will slow the rim wear. Not for the microwave if you would rather the worn edges did not spread. Stack with a cloth between if you are keeping them a long time.

The story
Six bowls, deep enough for soup or a proper serving of rice and curry, with a scalloped edge that lifts them out of the ordinary. The glaze is a warm cream that has gone slightly ivory with age.
The brown flecking along the rims is not damage and it is not decoration. It is where four decades of stacking has worn the glaze back to the clay body underneath, and it has happened unevenly, so every bowl in the set is marked differently. New pieces are made to imitate this. These came by it honestly.
They are earthenware rather than porcelain, which means they are thicker, heavier and hold heat longer. Soup stays hot in these in a way it does not in a thin bowl.
