Hand wash. Crazed glaze absorbs water and dishwasher heat drives it deeper into the body, which is what turns fine crazing brown over the years. Dry properly before stacking.

The story
Three deep plates with a wide rim moulded into a running wave. The wave is in the clay, formed in the mould rather than applied, so it will never wear off.
The two lines are the interesting part. The thin orange circle inside the well and the dark band around the outer edge were both banded by hand — the plate is spun on a wheel and the painter holds a loaded brush steady against it. Follow the orange line all the way round on any of the three and you will find where it begins and ends, slightly thicker where the brush first touched.
Deep enough for soup, wide enough on the rim to hold bread beside it. This is the shape of plate that stopped being made when tables got smaller.
