The story

A real sarong is held up by a knot, and a child cannot tie one and would not keep it on if they could. So this has an elastic waist. That is the only concession — the cloth is the same handloom cotton Karunawathi weaves for adults, off the same loom, in the same width, just cut shorter.

The seams are flat-felled and turned so there is no raw edge anywhere against skin, and there is no woven label. Labels are the first thing a parent cuts out, so we put the care information on a card instead and left the garment alone.

Green because the dye is the same bath she uses for the adult check, run at half strength.
