Matching one moonstone is a job. Matching nineteen is a different kind of job, and it is the reason this exists as an edition of eight rather than a standing product.
The blue in moonstone appears only along one internal axis, so every stone in a row has to be cut to the same orientation or the sheen switches on and off along the necklace as the wearer turns. Ranjith cuts the whole set together from material he has held back over months, grading for depth of colour first and size second, then orienting each dome against the last one he finished. The nineteen here came out of about sixty candidates.
Graduated, largest at the throat. Bezel-set rather than clawed, because a collar sits against skin and claws catch. Recycled silver, as with everything he makes.
